I've been working on photographing my work today so that I can apply to shows and other art stuff. It is hard work and work I am not particularly good at. I find it hard to discipline myself to set up the work so it looks professional (see my Instagram feed, which is almost all snapshots of my messy desk!), take the pictures, edit and add titles, details, etc. but this is important administrative work for an artist who wants to be taken seriously. And, for as playful and childlike as I often seem, I do want to be taken seriously - even if I am only realizing it in my mid-forties. I'm going be persistent and get this admin work done so I can play and make art later!
