It always says to use a catchy title. This is as catchy as I can manage at the moment. Here are the upcoming shows, open studios and classes where you can enjoy my art and teaching!
This Sunday, from 1-4pm the Studios at 307 will be open for visitors and many of our amazing artist community will be there to celebrate. Come by on the second floor, south side of the building, to see my studio. I'll have work in process and some finished pieces up as well as my usual riot of color and chaotic mess. Not to be missed!
The following weekend, September 23 from 11am to 5pm, my studio will be open again through the Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour (AVAST). I know, I know, it is actually in Falls Church, but there are a few artists who live in Arlington and so we are able to offer another open Studios at 307 through AVAST. Here is the letter sent out by AVAST welcoming all to visit a huge number of artist studios around Arlington:
Each September, artists across Arlington open their studios to visitors during the Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour (AVAST). I’m a participating artist, and I invite you to visit my studio, as well as other studios on the tour. Come and see how and where artists create – maybe even take a piece of art home with you! The artists represent many media – painting, photography, ceramics, furniture, sculpture, and lots more (including COLLAGE, my favorite medium). It’s is a wonderful community event where friends and neighbors gather to enjoy art and creativity.
Date and time: September 23 and 24, 11 am to 5 pm. My studio will be open on September 23 at Studios at 307.
To find out about the artists and locate their studios, pick up a printed Tour Guide/Map from libraries and arts venues across Arlington starting in early September. Or use the website: artists’ directory and online map.
As a bonus and a sneak preview of what's in store on the Tour, AVAST artists are exhibiting works at AVAST@3700, an exhibit running from September 9 through December 7. It’s located at 3700 South Four Mile Run Drive, an Arlington County arts building. I have a piece in this show titled, I Try, from my Personal Stratigraphies 2.0 series. Send me some pictures if you go to visit!
It would also be great to see you at the opening reception for the Tour/Exhibit at Gallery 3700 September 22, 5-7 pm.
The tour is free, and you can register on Eventbrite, here.
